After a year of not being able to be together at The Yard, we’re so excited to be able to welcome everyone back into the building.
We’re doing a few things to keep all of us including The Yard team, our artists, and our audiences as safe as possible.
We are asking all of our audiences, staff and collaborators who are coming into our buildings for work, shows or events to bring evidence of one of the below for both Theatre and Music + Events.
Theatre
We’re asking all audiences, staff and collaborators to bring evidence of one of the below:
- One timestamped photo of a negative lateral flow test received on the day of the performance. We will also accept an official NHS email/text message.
- A negative PCR test result received within 24 hours of the performance.
- Proof of a double vaccination status.
There is a difference between a lateral flow/rapid flow test and a PCR test. Click here for what a lateral flow/rapid flow test is and click here for what a PCR test is.
Our top priority is the safety of our Front of House, cast and creative teams. Our Front of House team reserves the right to refuse entry, without providing a refund, if you do not provide evidence of one of the above.
Audiences will also be asked to wear masks in the auditorium and bar, except while eating or drinking.
We also know that not everyone is able to or feels ready enough to enter a space within social-distancing. So, there will be socially-distanced performances across performance runs alongside, non-socially distanced performances.
Socially Distanced Performances
- Reduced capacity
- Groups of only 1, 2 and 3s will be allowed to be seated together in the auditorium.
- There will be at least one meter or sometimes slightly less distance between groups in the theatre.
- Only ticket holders will be able to access the bar.
- Reserved seating.
Please note that the auditorium is not well ventilated.
Non Socially Distanced Performances
- Full capacity
- No social distancing will happen within the auditorium and the bar.
- Only ticket holders will be able to access the bar.
- Unreserved seating.
If you are unable to attend due to Covid-19 symptoms, a positive test, or are required to self-isolate by NHS Track and Trace, we will be able to offer an exchange or refund.
Alongside the safety of our audience we also prioritise the safety of our Front of House, cast and creative teams. Our Front of House team reserves the right to refuse entry without refund if you do not provide evidence of one of the above.
For any other reason, requests for cancellations or exchanges will be in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

Wearing face coverings is not mandatory.
