Films For Food: SOUTHWEST OF SALEM Film Screening
Films For Food returns with a screening of the critically acclaimed documentary ‘Southwest Of Salem’. This is a rare London screening of this powerful documentary.
After being wrongfully convicted of gang-raping two little girls during the Satanic Panic witchhunt of the 80s and 90s, four Latina lesbians fight against mythology, homophobia, and prosecutorial fervor in this now-classic gay rights ‘True Crime’ tale that helped exonerate the ‘San Antonio Four’. The film received a Peabody Award, a GLAAD award for ‘Outstanding Documentary’, and a Critic’s Choice Award for ‘Best First Feature’.

Between 2014 – 2017, there has been a 51% increase in people using food banks across the UK. In response, Rainbow Collective set up Films For Food, a scheme that addresses the fact that there are now over 1 million people using food banks.
Films for Food gives film lovers the opportunity to watch brilliant films and do good for our communities. Each month at Hub67 we screen another leading film, often followed by a Q&A with the directors, and ask people to bring along a bag of non-perishable food for entry. Food is donated to First Love Foundation in Tower Hamlets.
