Join acclaimed theatre director Russell Lucas as he shares his insights into the art of stage direction in this fast-paced workshop aimed at people at the start of their career or anyone with a fascination on how a director works. The session includes insights into how to audition, cast, stage and how to work in collaboration with the actor. This event includes professional performers visiting in the afternoon to work with the participants.
Russell Lucas has been a director for over twenty years working with diverse artists such as Sh!t Theatre, Henry Davis, Callum Phoenix Crouch and The Boy with Tape on His Face. He is co-creator and director of global-hit ‘Julie Madly Deeply’ by Sarah Louise-Young and is currently producing The American Season at The Canal Cafe Theatre. He has a broad experience across the industry including devising, dramaturgy, editing, film direction and the building of young people’s projects with The Donmar Warehouse, The Old Vic and The National Youth Theatre.
