The Yard Theatre and our two community centres, Hub67 and The Hall, are closed as of today, in line with government advice.
The upcoming New Nordics Festival has been cancelled, and ticket holders will be contacted by our Box Office team in the next 48 hours. We will update on future theatre programme as soon as we can, but if you have an urgent query you can email us at email@example.com.
Our late-night Music & Events programme has been cancelled until mid-April.
All Local programme and Yard Young Artists activity is cancelled for the rest of this term, and our community centres Hub67 and The Hall remain closed for the rest of the week, with hirers and users of these spaces to be contacted in the next 48 hours. We are looking at ways to mobilise local support and in touch with our local partners about how we can continue to support local residents through our community spaces and networks during this time.
This is an extraordinary and difficult time for all theatres. The closure of our spaces will have a huge impact on our communities, the artists and young people we work with, our staff and freelancers, and the local residents who rely on our services.
As a small organisation who largely rely on the income we can generate ourselves, we are in dialogue with Arts Council England and our other partners about the support we will need to survive over the coming months. We have been hugely grateful to see people making donations over the last 24 hours – if you feel able to support us in any way to ensure that all our programmes and spaces can reopen as soon as practically possible we would be grateful for any donation, big or small: https://theyardtheatre.co.uk/support-us/
It goes without saying that we’re still here on social media for you to engage with us remotely until we can welcome you back into our spaces. Take care of yourselves and each other.
