The Glass Menagerie
28 February - 10 May 2025
About
“One of the finest stagings of the Tennessee Williams play that I’ve ever seen.”
★★★★ The Telegraph
It is evening. Tom Wingfield is smoking in the alley outside the apartment where he grew up. Through a window, he watches his mother and his sister.
Tonight is one of those nights you remember forever.
Tonight, someone special is coming to dinner. Tonight, there will be a dance. Tonight, you might fall in love. Tonight, everything could change.
This is Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, the American masterpiece about staying and about leaving, directed by Artistic Director Jay Miller (★★★★★ The Flea, ★★★★★ The Crucible, ★★★★★ This Beautiful Future)—in The Yard's current home before its transformation into something new.
Presented by special arrangement with The University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.
With special thanks to our production circle, Mike Anderson, Fiona Clements, Good Wolf People, Rodney Schwartz, Simon Tate, Carolyn Ward and those who wish to remain anonymous. For information on joining our circle, email claire@theyardtheatre.co.uk.

FRONT YARD (ON STAGE SEATS)
Right up close, right in the thick of it. Our Front Yard on-stage seats put you inside the world of the play—immersive, intimate, and unlike any other seat in the house.
Heads up: You’ll be seated on the sides, viewing the show from a side-on angle. The haze is strong, and the experience will be different from the main bank of seats.
NO EMPTY SEATS
If you’re aged 27 and under, you can get £5 tickets at the door to all performances that are not sold out.
CELEBRATING TENNESSEE WILLIAMS
Happy 114th, Tennessee! To celebrate, we’ve dropped 100 tickets for The Glass Menagerie at £14—two seats per night, first come, first served. And for the final ever show at The Yard, a special £114 ticket.
CONCESSIONS
If you're aged 27 and under, 65+, a student or are unwaged, tickets are priced cheaper.
GROUP BOOKINGS
If you’d like to make a group booking (10+ tickets), email us.
